Michelle Barnes, who was named Finley's VAS Junior Show Ambassador at the 2017 Show, has been named the GVRSA representative for the State Final.
At the Goulburn Valley Riverina Shows Association regional dinner on Saturday, Michelle, who attended an interview during the afternoon, presented her prepared speech on 'the importance of newspaper in our daily life,' along with four other Junior Show Ambassadors from across the region.
Michelle was chosen as the regional winner, while Riley Wilson from Cobram was second. Other contestants were Paige Cleave (Shepparton), Eliza Purtell (Berrigan) and Emily Major (Rochester).
The evening also saw regional photography, needlework and cooking finalists announced. Billie Matheson was the winner of the Carrot & Date Muffins, while Victoria Kennedy and Shirley Coldwell were placed second in the Carrot Cake and Open Photography, respectively.
Michelle and Billie will now move onto the State Final, held at the VAS State Convention in Ballarat on June 29 to July 1.
