The VAS Junior Show Ambassador Award highlights and celebrates rural and regional young people, with a particular emphasis on candidates who are involved in their local shows. The Award seeks to draw attention to the talent, creativity and ingenuity of young rural youth in NSW and Victoria, and in doing so, encourages the candidates to become engaged citizens across local communities.
The aims of the Junior Show Ambassador is to have the opportunity to partake in a competition, whilst still residing in their local district; contribute to a local show and meet likeminded people with similar interests. The competition is open to entrants, male or female, aged 16-19 years at the time of the local show, and to residents of NSW and Victoria
Entrants are judged on: local show involvement, community involvement, general & rural knowledge, personality & confidence, ambitions/goals, communication skills, and presentation & grooming.
Judging will take place prior to or on Show Day, alongside the Young Woman Competition, and all entrants are asked to help during Show Day. The winner will go on to the Regional Final in March/April 2024.
